School's sensory garden to be stimulus for students - Heathcoat primary school
A NEW sensory garden designed to stimulate the senses of youngsters at Heathcoat Primary School is showing children and staff a glimpse of prehistoric plant life.
Each stage of the process of creating the garden — designing, researching, preparing the ground, planting and care — has involved pupils and teachers.
It has been overseen by Terry Watling, of Withleigh Nurseries, who provided the Tiverton primary with expert advice and some high quality and unusual plants to make the garden special.
Terry visited the school last month to bring plants for the evolutionary area of the garden, which is planted with varieties that have existed for thousands of years, such as rheums, gunneras, ginkgo biloba, ferns and unusual specimens like Psuedopanax.

Peace Garden - Tiverton high school
Despite the wet weather and the visit of some local cows, we have now nearly completed the Peace garden. Raised borders are complete, seating in place, grass growing, plants planted (and replanted after the visit of the cows) and art work is being positioned. Already the area is being used by many students to experience a relatively quiet lunchtime. We, the Parent Partnership group, would like to say a very big thank you to all that have helped in any way, particular mention must be made of Withleigh Nurseries who have donated the majority of plants for the garden, thank you. The garden will be officially opened in the spring when hopefully all of the hard work will be rewarded by wonderful display of flowers and art work.

Two Moors Primary School - Quote from head teacher Mr Kerigan.
"Two Moors school has a stunning outdoor enviroment which has been created with the proffessional help from Withleigh Nurseries. The Nursery has freely offered their time to ensure that the right plants were selected for the range of purposes required in the tough conditions of the busy school grounds. The quality and cost of these is exceptional and proof of this is literally growing daily!"
